Wire, RTK and vision
Robot mowers used to need a boundary wire round every edge. Many newer models don't: they use satellite positioning (RTK), cameras, laser scanning (LiDAR) or a mix. Each works well in some gardens and struggles in others, mostly because of trees, buildings and how clear your lawn edges are.
Our guides explain how each type works and its limits, in plain terms, and the decider tells you which suits your garden.
